SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM:

Used to graph linear functions.

Shows us the slope and y-intercept.

Used for GRAPHING linear functions.

m = Slope (how steep the line is)

b = the Y Intercept (where the line crosses the Y axis)\

y=mx+b graph

POINT SLOPE FORM:

Used for linear functions.

Shows us the slope and 1 point on the graph.

Used when you have the slope and 1 point to find the y-intercept.

m=slope

x1=x coordinate from the point

y1=y coordinate from the point

STANDARD FORM:

Used for linear functions.

Used when solving for x or y, when you have 2 equations.

Used to solve systems of linear equations (next unit).
